Sexuality: Yuuko is seductive towards either gender, it's just in her nature.

Appearance:
Yuuko is a tall woman with long legs and slender arms. Along with her height, she is also curvy, at least in the sense that she has large breasts and nice hips. Yuuko's hair is extremely long as well as dark, ebony black and straight it reaches far past her back although the length doesn't seem to bother her at all. She will sometimes pull portions of it into a bun but most of the time it just hangs down around her. Yuuko's eyes are a dark red and she always seems to have a look of 'knowing' about her, as though she knows all of your secrets with just a glance. Her skin is rather pale, probably due to the fact she doesn't leave her shop much or perhaps she is just naturally that way. Putting aside the rare instances when Yuuko is serious there is often a playful smirking curve to her lips as well as a playful look in her gaze, she's very "Cheshire Cat" like.

Personality:
Yuuko has two very distinct personalities which weave together to make her a very complex individual. Most of the time Yuuko presents herself as a lazy and sarcastic individual; one who has little concern for what happens to her customers as long as they pay the price for their wish. She loves to tease people, especially those that are easily rattled like her employee, Watanuki. Yuuko is rather fun loving and enjoys a good time when there is one to be found. Sometimes her idea of humor leans towards the perverted side and is often done at the expense of another. When she knows it will make someone uncomfortable it can even be argued that she is quite the flirt, the woman does not really believe in "personal boundaries."

She can also be seen as stingy since every action or piece of advice she gives someone she often asks for a price to be paid in exchange. Because of her job, Yuuko has a fondness for collecting mysterious things (as well as good alcohol) and often refers to her collection as a 'treasure.' Overall, Yuuko can be very eccentric. She is quite used to the strange and weird and is not often surprised by strange things. Of course, with a philosophy that "nothing is coincidence in this world, there is only inevitability" it's easy to see why.

The other side to Yuuko's personality is much darker. She is very knowledgeable about not only this world but also the workings of many worlds. Yuuko knows that despite her great power she is quite helpless against destiny. This lends itself to Yuuko's side that is more serious; she can see the bigger picture of things and has seen how grim things might turn out to be. Yuuko puts on the fun-loving, humorous front not only to distance herself from her clients so that she will not interfere or get too involved but also to prevent herself from being hurt. She can take on quite a sober tone with the situation is serious enough…although often this does not last for long.

Abilities/Weaponry:
Yuuko is a witch, plain and simple, though more specifically she is known as the "Dimension Witch" because she holds the power to cross dimensions. This ability lends itself to her 'job' as keeper of a special shop where she grants people's wishes from various dimensions. Generally, these wishes are granted by giving people items she carries in her shop but they must pay her in return for this service. Obviously, due to her experiences she has a vast wealth of knowledge on the mystical and can cast normal spells, such as putting up barriers. She is also a fortuneteller and has shown great skill in this area as well as the art of making protective wards.

Due to the nature of Paixao, Yuuko's abilities have been severely toned down. She can no longer transverse dimensions nor can she communicate with those outside of this dimension either. She has no access to her shop (which irritates her) and is essentially a normal witch now. She could probably still grant certain wishes…given the equivalent price and as long as it didn't interfere with certain rules laid down in Paixao. Even if Yuuko had the power she normally does because of certain powers that be she can not interfere in this meeting or the events unfolding in Paixao for it is "fate" and even Yuuko has her limits in the realm of interference…here she is not allowed to interfere in the course of things at all.

Weaknesses:
One of Yuuko's most obvious weaknesses is her love for alcohol. When given the chance she will drink it morning, noon, and night with little sign of stopping. She is not immune to hangovers however and often pays the price for her excessive drinking in the morning but this never seems to deter her from picking up another glass later on. Yuuko also has a soft spot for good food to go with her alcohol; recently it has been Watanuki's cooking but really anything tasty to the pallet appeals to the witch.

Yuuko has also shown a weakness towards Watanuki, she wishes to help him as much as she can but is unable to due to certain rules of interference. She cannot help someone without a price because of her powers and so she can only do so much for him without asking for something in return. Often she teases him about this but there are times when she really wants to help and she cannot. The same applies to "those children," being Syaoran and Sakura.


History:
Given the fact that we do not know Yuuko's true age it is hard to put together just how long she has been around and what makes up her past, all of which is veiled in a mystery as thick as Yuuko's pipe smoke. We do know that she worked with a mage named Clow Reed years ago to not only make the Mokona's but to also put the shop together in preparation for Watanuki as well as Sakura and Syaoran. She has an ill opinion of Clow by the time we get to the present but the two were certainly colleagues in the past. We also know that Yuuko has helped various people in the past to travel through worlds including Seishiro; the vampire twins Kamui and Subaru, as well as grant wishes for others of countless worlds. She, herself, has traveled to various worlds and has obviously seen many things on her journeys.

However, we find out most of this later, when the manga begins we meet her as a mysterious shop owner who claims she will grant Watanuki's wish to no longer see spirit but in order to grant this wish he must work for her. After gaining his assistance, however reluctantly, she puts him to work doing various menial tasks such as cooking and cleaning out her treasure room. Watanuki is around to see her deal with various customers such as a woman with a computer addiction she wishes to be rid of as well as a woman with a habit of lying. The most interesting customers they receive however are arguably the travelers from three different worlds: Sakura, Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane. Yuuko grants them the ability to travel worlds to retrieve Sakura's feathers by means of a small pork-bun creature named Mokona Modoki. Yuuko bestows upon them the white Mokona and keeps the black colored one, informing the group that it will be their means of communication during their travels.

After they leave Watanuki returns to being pestered and working for Yuuko. Through her, he is introduced to various supernatural oddities while Yuuko attempts to help him realize that not all spirits are bad and sometimes humans are worst. For the most part it is business as usual except that now that events are in motion Yuuko is finding that there is less and less for her to do for not only Watanuki but the child travelers as well, when communicating with the white Mokona she does what she can to give advice or help (for a price). Eventually, Yuuko discovers the world in which Fei Wong Reed resides, he is the man responsible for forcing Sakura and the others to travel to different worlds as he wished to use Sakura to be able to transverse the worlds.

This is not her only concern however. She has Watanuki's problems to worry about as well which seem to be connected to Syaoran and the other's journey. The barrier around her shop is loosing strength and Yuuko knows they must solve the problem facing all the worlds before that barrier is destroyed.
